BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. C. I. Orr-Ewing, born in 1912, became prospective candidate for the constituency in 1946. He served an apprenticeship in the radio industry and joined the B.B.C. television service in 1937, but resigned last year to devote more time to politics. Throughout the war he worked on radar in the R.A.F., serving in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. Resuming?his political career, he became a member of the executive of the Conservative Party in 1947-48, and has been a prominent speaker at the Party’s recent conferences.
