BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. W. H. Ayles, who was born in 1879 and had an elementary education, has been an M.P. in three Parliaments since 1923, and was elected for the old Southall seat in 1945. He has had a long period of public service, including 15 years on Bristol City Council, and was chairman of Bristol Labour Party for many years. He is a Quaker.
