BIOGRAPHY :

Col. T. G. Greenwell, who was born in Sunderland in 1894, is managing director of a ship-repairing firm in the town. Educated at Gresham’s School, Holt, and Durham University, he served in both world wars. He has been a Deputy Lieutenant for Co. Durham since 1945. He represented the constituency from 1943 to 1945, and served on the executive committee of the Shipbuilding Employers’ Federation for many years.
