Mrs. A. Cullen followed Mr. G. Buchanan in the representation of the division at a by-election in 1949. Born in 1892, she is a housewife who has found time from her domestic duties to serve more than 10 years on Glasgow Corporation and as a magistrate. She is a widow and has three daughters.
