BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. J. S. Magnay, 46 years old, is the second son of the late Mr. Thomas Magnay, a former member for Gateshead, who in 1931 defeated Mr. Ernest Bevin. Engaged professionally in building society work, he has been for many years a Sunday-school superintendent, and is also hon. secretary of the Gateshead Liberal Association. He has been a member of the Gateshead Borough Council since 1939.
