BIOGRAPHY :

Mrs. R. W. Bateson, a Scot, born 48 years ago, after many years’ experience in local government work joined her husband as a partner in a firm of valuers in Yorkshire and later became a Fellow of the Valuers’ Association. She founded the Yorkshire Housewives’ Union, and is a former chairman of the National Women Citizens Association. She resigned from the Conservative Party some months ago.
