BIOGRAPHY :

Lt.-Cmdr. G. I. C. Hutchison, who became M.P. for the division in 1941, is son of a former member for North Midlothian. Born in 1903 and educated at Edinburgh Academy and Royal Naval Colleges at Osborne and Dartmouth, he served in the Royal Navy and became a specialist in mines and torpedoes. He was inspector of naval ordnance, Edinburgh, and South East Scotland in the last war. For six years he was a member of Edinburgh Town Council.
