BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. P. Daines, who was born in 1902, is a former locomotive fireman. Later, he was employed by an insurance society. In the war he served in the Royal Engineers. For some years he was a member °i Enfield Council, of Which his wife is chairman, alld he has also been closely associated with the Co-operative movement. He won the seat for the Labour Party in 1945.
