BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. S. Taylor, began work in the mines at the age of 14, and led a strike at Barnsley main colliery at the age of 21. A member of the Yorkshire District Committee of the Communist Party and chairman of the Barnsley branch, he was elected secretary of the Brierly (Ferry Moor) branch of the National Union of Mineworkers in 1942. He is 40.
