BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. J. E. Ramsden is 26, and was educated at Eton, where in 1941 he won an open classical scholarship to Trinity College, Oxford, and in 1942 the Newcastle scholarship. Instead of going to the university he joined the Army, served in the war and was mentioned in dispatches. After the war he went to Oxford and was given his rugger Blue. After joining the family brewing business at Halifax, he returned to Oxford to complete a degree in political economy.
