BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. A. L. Ungoed-Thomas, K.C., in the last Parliament represented Llandaff and Barry, which he captured from the Conservatives in 1945. Born in 1904, he is the son of a Baptist minister. Educated at Haileybury and Magdalen College, Oxford, he graduated with honours, and was called to the Bar in 1929. He established a large practice in the Chancery division, and took silk in 1947. During the war he was on the staff at the War Office. He was a member last summer of the British delegation to the Council of Europe at Strasbourg.
