BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. J. T. Huddart, aged 38, is a school-piaster. A native of North Shields, he joined the Merchant Service and has a second mate’s certificate. Leaving the sea he became a teacher and entered the service of the Brighton Education Committee. During the war he served on the Northern Patrol, in Norway and at Cherbourg. He was at Singapore, where he made a last-minute escape in a dinghy. In East Africa later he was promoted to Lieutenant-Commander.
