Mr. H. D. Oakshott, member of a well-known !°cal family, was born m 1904, and educated at Rugby and at Cam-°ndge, where he took an honours degree in law. fe is a director of a Liverpool timber com-Pfny. After service in we Middle East, North Atnca, and Italy, he held f staff appointment at the War Office before ueing invalided out in 1945 with the rank of “eutenant-colonel.
