BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. B. Hazell failed to win this seat in 1945 by 116 votes. Born in 1907, he has been an organizer for the Union of Agricultural Workers in Hertfordshire and Yorkshire and a member of the West Riding Agricultural Committee, and is also on the executive of the Yorkshire Council of the Labour Party. His recent appointments include membership of the Leeds Regional Hospilal Board and of the North-Eastern Electricity Consultative Council.
