Mr. E. D. T. Vane contested Newbury in 1945. Born in 1912, he was educated at Mill Hill and the London School of Economics, here he graduated B.Sc. (Economics). He is anjall-round sportsman and was president of the Athletic Union and also president of University of London Students’ Union. He is joint managing director of a firm of seamless tube manufacturers at Maidenhead.
