    HMRC assesses annually the community background information relating to its Northern Ireland staff. This is done as part of the annual reporting arrangements to the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland and helps inform HMRC’s Equality Analysis work and Northern Ireland Equality Scheme.

    The Government has no legislative plans to make an amendment to the Hunting Act 2004. However, the Government’s position remains that we will bring forward a motion for a free vote on the repeal of the Hunting Act when Parliamentary time allows.

    The Care Bill has simplified the process for adult carers in England to access an assessment of need for social care, based on the appearance of a need for support.

    The Children and Families Act has introduced new arrangements for supporting young people with a special educational need, and their families. A single assessment involving professionals and commissioners, and the child’s family, will identify the care needs for the child or young person (from ages 0 to 25) to inform an individual Education, Health and Care Plan focusing on outcomes and the integrated services to deliver them.

    The UK was the first to deploy a team to assess the humanitarian situation following the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant’s attack on Mosul. On 14 June the Department for International Development (DFID) announced £3 million of emergency assistance to help around 500,000 displaced Iraqis, and a further £2 million was allocated on 17 June.

    To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what estimate he has made of the likely reduction to the block grant for Northern Ireland in the current financial year arising from lack of progress on welfare reform.

    I have written to the Northern Ireland Minister for Finance and Personnel setting out that the Treasury will reduce Northern Ireland Executive budgets to reflect savings foregone as a result of the lack of progress on welfare reforms already in place in the rest of the United Kingdom. For 2014/15 those estimated savings are £87m and in 2015/16 they will rise to £114m.

    To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, if he will review the level and practice of undeclared costings charged by financial institutions to private investors on open-ended investment trusts and other products.

    The Government is aware of the impact that costs can have on investment returns. While there are currently no plans for HM Treasury to undertake a review the Government is working with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which regulates the disclosure of fees and expenses in accordance with existing regulation.

    The FCA has conducted a review on the clarity of fund charges within the current regulatory framework to ensure costs are clearly set out to consumers. It will publish its findings in quarter 2 2014. The FCA has also worked closely with the Treasury to shape future European legislation which will improve the disclosure of fund charges across Europe.

    The National Crime Agency is committed to assisting the Police Service of
    Northern Ireland in tackling serious and organised crime as far as the
    restrictions on its powers permit.

    Discussions continue in order to achieve full operating powers for the National
    Crime Agency in Northern Ireland to ensure the response to organised crime in
    Northern Ireland is more effective. This is a priority.

    The National Crime Agency does have full operating powers elsewhere in the UK.
