    The Overseas Domestic Worker Steering Group no longer meets, therefore there is
    no current membership. The last meeting was on 19 November 2010.

    The Home Office is carefully considering all the recommendations of the
    Pre-Legislative Scrutiny Committee’s report on the Modern Slavery Bill.

    The administration of overseas resident passports was repatriated from the
    Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2012. Transition arrangements began in

    The table below shows the number of Her Majesty’s Passport Office full-time
    equivalents working within the passport operational Directorates.
    The formal record for workforce data is made on the last day of each calendar
    month. We have therefore provided the data as of 31 March of each year.

    Due to the limitations of the HR management system used prior to Dec 2010, it
    is not possible to provide reliable management information below top level for

    The estimated average direct daily cost of holding a person in our immigration
    detention facilities is £100. It should be noted that this is an average and it
    will vary marginally depending upon the mix of facilities in use at a given
    point.

    To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, which sites were affected by the failure of UK Border Agency computers at passport control on 30 April 2014; what steps she is taking to investigate and rectify the problem; and what assessment she has made of the reasons for the computer failure.

    This was a national issue and all ports were affected. The issue was rectified
    as soon as possible, with national security our first priority at all times. An
    urgent investigation is being conducted to examine the circumstances
    surrounding this incident.
