To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many people have been (a) killed and (b) injured as a result of accidents during exercises at the army training ground at Otterburn in each of the last 10 years.

In the period 1 January 2006 to 4 September 2016, there has been one death whilst on training or exercise at Otterburn training area. The death occurred in 2016.

The table below shows the recorded number of personnel injured on training or exercise at Otterburn in the period 1 April 2008 to 30 June 2016 reported through the MOD Health and Safety and Casualty Notification process. These totals may not include all injuries, as some minor injuries may have been treated immediately and not reported. Reporting of injuries is improving, and usage of the training area has increased since 2015.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many asylum seekers have been granted leave to remain since 2000.

The Home Office publishes data on asylum initial decisions in Table as_01 (Asylum data tables Volume 1) of the quarterly Immigration Statistics release. A total of 166,445 main applicants have been granted asylum or an alternative form of protection since January 2000. An annual breakdown of this total is provided in the attached table.

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to the Answer of 17 March 2016 to Question 27522, on child benefit: immigrants, and with reference to the Answer of 22 October 2012, Official Report, columns 619-20, on child benefit: EU nationals, and the Answer of 6 September 2010, Official Report, columns 189-90, on benefits: British nationals abroad, how many child benefit awards there were for children living in each non-UK country in each year since 2012.

Around 7m people are receiving Child Benefit. To extract and collate the value of all payments made to EU migrants for children living outside the UK in the format requested could only be provided at disproportionate cost.

The Government’s new settlement between the UK and the EU means that EU nationals whose children live abroad will ultimately receive Child Benefit at a rate that reflects the conditions – including the standard of living and child benefit paid – of the country where their child lives. This will restore fairness to the system.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what plans his Department has to fill the role previously held by the National Clinical Director for Adult Neurology at NHS England; and what assessment his Department has made of the contribution of that role to NHS services.

Sir Bruce Keogh, NHS England’s Medical Director, has undertaken a review of the National Clinical Director (NCD) resource designed to focus clinical advisory resources on areas where major programmes of work are currently being taking forward, or areas identified as priorities for improvement. As a result of the review, NHS England has proposed to change the way in which clinical advice is received in speciality areas in the future.

Where there will no longer be a specific NCD role, NHS England will secure expert clinical advice from its Clinical Networks and through its relationships with professional bodies and by appointing clinical advisors. For neurology it is planned that access to advice will be through clinical leads and members of the NHS England-funded neurology clinical networks, the Neurology Clinical Reference Group and Royal Colleges. It is expected that these new arrangements will be in place from 1 April 2016.

The Neurology Intelligence Network (NIN) is a joint partnership programme between Public Health England (PHE) and NHS England to support the generation and dissemination of neurology related health intelligence. PHE currently funds the on-going design, development and management of the NIN.

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the Answer of 24 March 2016 to Question 31038 on social rented housing: EU nationals, if he will publish the data that is available on the nationality of households and persons on social housing waiting lists.

The Department’s annual Local Authority’s Housing Statistics provide information on the total households on local authority waiting lists in England but do not record nationality. The Department’s English Housing Survey does ask whether respondents are on a waiting list and also records nationality. The sample size, however, is not sufficient to provide a robust estimate by nationality.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many children in an early years setting are in receipt of the service pupil premium.

No children in an early years setting are in receipt of the service child element of the pupil premium grant. The grant is payable to schools and local authorities for pupils in year groups reception to year 11.

The number of school-age children in England eligible for the service child pupil premium in January 2016, broken down by Key Stage, is provided in the table.
