President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mark Rutte who arrived in our country on a visit.

The Head of State greeted the Prime Minister of the Netherlands in Ukraine and emphasized that the meaningful negotiations that took place today once again proved the willingness of the two countries to work jointly and as efficiently as possible in the interests of the whole of Europe.

“A lot has already been done. In terms of the amount of defense support provided, the Netherlands is among the top ten partners of our country. And I would like to note the decision of the Dutch government to provide our country with additional heavy weapons. We are very grateful for that,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with media representatives following the meeting with Mark Rutte in Kyiv.

The President also recalled the recent allocation by the Netherlands of 200 million euros of additional financial support for Ukraine, which will help ensure the financing of payments for Ukrainian teachers, doctors and pensioners.

Also, according to the Head of State, the Netherlands made a significant contribution to increasing sanctions pressure on Russia for the war waged against our country.

“Ukraine and the Netherlands equally understand the need to protect international law, the rule of law in every country, the rights and liberties of people. And while Russia is trying to destroy all this, we must work for an even greater strengthening of sanctions against Russian terrorism,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President noted the personal principles and leadership of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands in the issue of sustainable development of Europe and thanked Mark Rutte’s government for supporting granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership.

“United Europe can be truly protected and stable only together with Ukraine,” the Head of State emphasized.

According to him, Ukraine will waste no time on its way to full membership in the European Union.

“Further transformation of our state for the sake of readiness to become a full member of the European Union is taking place even now, in a difficult situation, in the conditions of a full-scale war. And I am grateful to the Prime Minister for supporting our country on the European path,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the situation on the front and options of its development.

“We must do everything possible to oust all the occupiers as soon as possible, restore normal democratic life, and preferably throughout the territory of our independent state. Today we also discussed with the Prime Minister what new steps can ensure the realization of this goal, including defense, sanctions and economic ones,” the Head of State said.

Special attention was paid during the negotiations to the issue of restoration of Ukraine. As the President noted, it is not only about what needs to be done when peace is achieved, but also about what is needed right now – strengthening security, revitalizing the economy, preparing the education system for the new school year and the entire country for the new heating season.

“I am confident that the participation of the Netherlands in the reconstruction of Ukraine will be able to strengthen not only our country, but also Dutch society and companies. We talked about recovery. The Netherlands will think about it, but they are paying attention to our Kherson region,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

For his part, Mark Rutte emphasized that Ukraine is going through difficult times today, and it is also a difficult time for the whole of Europe. He expressed his respect for the Ukrainian people, who are courageously and decisively fighting against Russian aggression. According to him, Ukrainians deserve the support of the whole world.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands also said that he visited the settlements of the Kyiv region, which suffered from the terrible crimes of the Russian army, and was shocked by what he saw. He emphasized that those guilty of those crimes must be brought to justice.

According to Mark Rutte, the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine politically, strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and put pressure on the leadership of Russia. They will also continue to provide our country with military aid, including modern weapons and equipment.

“And I again call on all my colleagues in Europe and beyond to help Ukraine with heavy weapons,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands emphasized the importance of Ukraine obtaining the status of a candidate country for membership in the European Union.

Also, according to him, an important issue is the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war, which was discussed in detail during the recent Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano (Switzerland).

In addition, Mark Rutte emphasized the importance of solving the issue of exports of Ukrainian agricultural products ceased due to Russia’s blockade of the Black Sea ports.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with representatives of highway construction contractors in Ukraine regarding the specifics of building infrastructure facilities amid the full-scale Russian aggression.

The head of state expressed gratitude to the companies for the fact that they continue working in Ukraine even after the invasion by the Russian Federation, as well as for help and support in preparing the defense of Ukrainian cities and the highway network.

“All major construction companies did all this,” he said.

The President emphasized the importance of implementing the plan, which provides for the construction of infrastructure facilities in accordance with wartime requirements.

“Today, infrastructure is becoming a branch, which is not related to comfort, but to necessity and defense capability of the state due to the fact that there are weapons, grain, and metallurgy. As for railways, roads, bridges and tunnels, we need to move to the most secure process so that we are ready for any missile strikes and blockades,” Zelenskyy said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the President of the Senate of the French Republic Gerard Larcher and the delegation of the upper house of the French Parliament, which is visiting our country.

Congratulating the French senators, the Head of State said: “We appreciate your attention to Ukraine. It was an honor for me to speak in the French Parliament. We are grateful for France’s consistent and effective support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and our territorial integrity.”

The President thanked the French parliamentarians and the entire French people for the important and multifaceted support of Ukraine – security, humanitarian and financial support.

“We especially appreciate and feel the help that France provides to Ukrainians who have found temporary shelter from the war in your friendly and hospitable state,” he said.

Zelenskyy briefed the senators on the development of the situation at the front line. In this connection, the parties discussed the issue of further increasing assistance to the defense forces of Ukraine.

The head of state also said that restoring peace on Ukrainian land as soon as possible remains our top priority. It is especially important for this to develop effective security guarantees for our state. Zelenskyy said that France is one of Ukraine’s key partners in this direction.

During the negotiations, attention was paid to the efforts that Ukraine is already making to prepare for post-war reconstruction.

The President thanked France for its readiness to take an active part in this process and for its intention to contribute to the restoration of Chernihiv region.

The head of state noted the important role of France in Ukraine’s obtaining the European Union candidate status.

“The role of the French EU presidency in this process, as well as the position of your state and President Emmanuel Macron personally, cannot be overestimated,” Zelenskyy said.

As part of a working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited wounded servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are being treated at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I. Mechnikov. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, the facility has become an operational center to deliver assistance to wounded military and civilians.

The head of state expressed his wishes for the quick recovery to the defenders, among who there are severely wounded. He noted their courage, heroism and the dedicated service to the Motherland.

Zelenskyy also presented state awards to the wounded warriors.

In addition, the President met with doctors and medical staff. He said that the result of their work in helping wounded soldiers and civilians makes feel proud of the fact that our country has such great people.

“You are on the same front line as the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the right people in the right place, where it’s hard to stay. And you endure all this. Thank you very much for your great service,” Zelenskyy said.

The head of state said that as of July 6, 2022, the hospital had registered 3,791 applications from wounded, servicemen and civilians with traumas from the war zone, including internally displaced persons. Of these, 3,014 appeals came from the military (79.5%). Some 3,362 people were treated. A total of 169 patients died (that is, the mortality rate is 4.8%). These are patients who arrived in an extremely difficult and critical condition, with wounds and injuries incompatible with life.

The President said that such a percentage of successful treatment of the wounded is highly indicative of the professionalism of Ukrainian doctors.

In Dnipro, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on the operational situation in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration Valentyn Reznichenko noted that the situation in the region is under control.

“There are no hostilities on our territory, but we constantly feel war,” he noted.

Russian troops have launched almost 400 strikes at the region, half of which were missile attacks, deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, enterprises and grain warehouses. The Kryvyi Rih district suffered the most from shelling.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was informed that as a result of enemy attacks, 313 residential buildings were destroyed and damaged, 25 schools, kindergartens and extra-curricular education centers, and 8 hospitals were ruined.

The Head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA informed the President about assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Almost 111 million hryvnias were allocated for this from the regional budget. The region has also hosted many wounded – military and civilian – and provides them with all necessary medical assistance.

In addition, the Dnipropetrovsk region sheltered more than 300,000 internally displaced persons. They receive the necessary humanitarian aid and social benefits.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that during the war, the region became a real humanitarian hub. In particular, almost 1.5 million food kits were sent to six regions suffering from Russian aggression.

During the working trip, the Head of State observed the work of the logistics center for the assembly of humanitarian aid kits and saw how the functioning of this important center was established.

During a working trip to the Dnipropetrovsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the frontline positions of our country’s defenders.

The Head of State talked with the servicemen and thanked them for their service.

“Thank you for your work and the heroism with which you defend our state, our Ukrainian families and the sovereignty of Ukraine. I want to wish you health, all the best for you and your families. And I wish us all victory. Glory to Ukraine!” said the President.

Under the chairmanship of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a meeting was held on the operational situation in the territory of the Kryvyi Rih district of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The Head of State listened to the report of the commander of the Kakhovka operational group of troops, Brigadier General Mykhailo Drapatyi regarding the situation in the region, the state of affairs in military units and detachments.

The President was informed about the construction of defense structures, material and technical support of the troops.

Head of the military administration of Kryvyi Rih Oleksandr Vilkul reported to the Head of State about the functioning of the city under martial law, the interaction of communal enterprises with the military, and the supply of food and medicine to Kryvyi Rih.

He also touched upon humanitarian issues, in particular the creation of comfortable conditions and provision of everything necessary for temporarily displaced persons.

Separately the parties discussed the problems of the functioning of heavy industry enterprises in Kryvyi Rih in the conditions of martial law and the creation of conditions for the restoration of their full-fledged work.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson.

Given Boris Johnson’s announcement of resignation as leader of the Conservative Party, the President of Ukraine expressed sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister for his decisive and uncompromising support for our state from the very first days of full-scale Russian aggression, as well as for his leadership in defending Ukraine’s interests in the international arena.

“We all heard this news with sadness. Not only me, but also the entire Ukrainian society, which is very sympathetic to you. My entire Office and all Ukrainians are grateful to you for your help. We have no doubt that Great Britain’s support will be preserved, but your personal leadership and charisma made it special,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

The Head of State also informed the interlocutor about the developments on the front.

The current state and prospects of Ukrainian-British cooperation were discussed. The parties paid special attention to the issues of defense cooperation and political support of Ukraine. Another key topic of the negotiations was the unblocking of grain exports from Ukrainian ports.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with United States Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal who represent the Republican and Democratic parties of the United States.

The Head of State thanked the senators for the visit to our country and for the strong tangible support from the USA in times of tremendous challenges related to Russian aggression.

“Bicameral and bipartisan support is really important for Ukraine. We feel it, we feel this unity,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President informed the representatives of the United States Senate about the situation on the front, which is certainly difficult, yet controlled, and about the existing plans the implementation of which directly depends on the further intensity of security support for Ukraine from international partners.

During the meeting, the President separately emphasized the importance of creating the necessary security conditions that would make the educational process possible in educational institutions.

“The number one task for us today is for women with children to be able to return to Ukraine by September 1, so that children can go to school, so that students do not leave and can go to universities. It is very important for us to do two things – to repair schools, universities, and also to have a powerful air defense,” he said.

In this regard, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on senators to back the decision on providing Ukraine with modern air defense systems.

“First of all, we appeal to you so that the Congress supports Ukraine in the matter of supplying modern air defense systems. We must ensure such a level of sky security that our people are not afraid to live in Ukraine,” said the Head of State.

During the meeting, the parties separately touched upon the issue of increasing sanctions pressure on the aggressor state. Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal informed Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the work they are carrying out in the Senate with the aim of recognizing the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The President thanked the senators for this important activity and emphasized Ukraine’s readiness for further close coordination of activities with partners on the sanctions track.

The terms of the end of the war depend on the international sanctions pressure on the aggressor state and the supply of necessary weapons to Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized this during a conversation with media representatives following the negotiations with Prime Minister of Ireland Micheál Martin in Kyiv.

The Head of State noted that “an open terrorist action by the Russian Federation, which is difficult to even call a war” continues in Ukraine. The President recalled the atrocities committed by the Russian military against the civilian population on the territory of our country.

Answering a question about how long the war will last, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that it depends on when Russia realizes what it has done and begins to leave the territory of Ukraine.

“It’s a humane moment, and I don’t really believe they can realize it on their own. Therefore, the second factor is how the whole world puts pressure on Russia and drives them out of our land. We must do that on the battlefield with weapons, and the whole world must do that with sanctions, politically, with aid and quick supply of weapons, strengthening us and doing it together,” he said.

The President emphasized that the Russian Federation must start thinking about peace. For this, it is necessary to continue strong sanctions pressure.

“Unfortunately, there are still some allies who help the Russian Federation or its business,” the Head of State noted.

In addition, as Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized, the security situation in Ukraine is important. In particular, our state needs reliable protection against Russian missile strikes.

“No matter how the war unfolds on the battlefield, the priority is still the safety of the sky. We all expect and have confirmation, so far theoretical, yet we count on the delivery of powerful air defense systems in Ukraine. This is important because it will allow women and children to return home,” the President is convinced.

According to him, the list of necessary weapons and air defense systems has been prepared and handed over to Ukraine’s partners.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that the terms of the end of the war also depend on the citizens of Ukraine – their support for the Armed Forces and the domestic economy.
