Sajid Javid – 2021 Comments on 12 Months Since Vaccine Rollout

The comments made by Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, on 8 December 2021.

I’m incredibly proud of our phenomenal COVID-19 vaccination programme. In one year we have administered almost 120 million doses across the UK, saving countless lives and giving us a powerful weapon to fight this devastating virus.

The battle is not yet over and we are working around the clock to boost the booster programme to maximise immunity following the emergence of the Omicron variant.

It is absolutely crucial everybody comes forward for their vaccines and booster jabs as soon as you are eligible so we can strengthen our wall of defence against COVID-19 and enjoy Christmas safely with our families and loved ones this year.

Boris Johnson – 2021 Comments on 12 Months Since Vaccine Rollout

The comments made by Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, on 8 December 2021.

Since the first jab was delivered one year ago today, our phenomenal vaccine rollout has saved hundreds of thousands of lives and given us the best possible protection against Covid-19.

So many people have been involved in this national vaccination effort, including our brilliant NHS staff, pharmacists, the military, the thousands of volunteers who dedicated themselves to the rollout, the incredible scientists, researchers and their teams who developed these life-saving vaccinations, and crucially every single one of you who has taken up the offer of a jab with such enthusiasm.

Our fight against the virus is not over yet, but vaccines remain our first and best line of defence against the virus – so the best way to continue to protect yourself and your loved ones is to get behind the vaccine programme and get boosted as soon as you’re eligible.

Ian Blackford – 2021 Comments about Allegra Stratton Laughing About Christmas Party

The comments made by Ian Blackford, the SNP Leader at Westminster, on 7 December 2021.

Here we have Number 10, a government in London, breaking its own Covid rules and then joking about it on a video. It really isn’t acceptable and I have to say, unfortunately, that on the basis of this behaviour, because it’s not just about this, it fits a pattern of a Prime Minister that repeatedly lies, a Prime Minister that can’t be trusted. He should go and he should go now.

  • Louise Haigh – 2021 Comments on ‘Rail Betrayal’

Louise Haigh – 2021 Comments on ‘Rail Betrayal’

The comments made by Louise Haigh, the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, on 8 December 2021.

Northern communities are, once again, paying the price for broken Tory promises on rail.

This great rail betrayal will hit millions of people, and leave the North in the slow lane for decades to come.

Promises made must be kept, and today Labour will stand up for our communities and demand they deliver the northern rail investment promised by the Prime Minister.

  • Nick Thomas-Symonds – 2021 Comments on UK Trade Agreements

Nick Thomas-Symonds – 2021 Comments on UK Trade Agreements

The comments made by Nick Thomas-Symonds, the Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade, on 8 December 2021.

The 2019 Conservative manifesto promised to negotiate a number of free trade agreements, including with the United States, within three years.

Time is ticking down and Ministers have not even identified the resources they need to implement existing agreements and conduct other negotiations at the same time. This is letting down UK workers and businesses.

Not only that, it is deeply concerning that the devolved administrations do not have the information they need to consider trade deals, this is extremely incompetent.

Ministers must get a grip of this and act urgently. Promoting British jobs and standards around the world should be a top priority.

Jacob Rees-Mogg – 2021 Comments at IEA on Christmas Party

The comments made by Jacob Rees-Mogg, the Leader of the House of Commons, on 7 December 2021.

I see we’re all here obeying regulations aren’t we?

I mean, this party isn’t going to be investigated by the police in a year’s time.

You are all carefully socially distanced, we have moved, I am pleased to tell you, from a metric to imperial system. I notice that you are all two inches away from each other which is what the regulations require.

The comments made by Sayeeda Warsi on Twitter on 8 December 2021.

Every minister, parliamentarian & staffer at the #downingstreetparty must resign NOW.

    No ifs no buts

The rule of law is a fundamental value , the glue that hold us together as a nation.

Once that is trashed by those in power the very essence of our democracy is at stake.

The comments made by Hannah Bardell, the SNP MP for Livingston, on Twitter on 7 December 2021.

One of my team died of cancer earlier this year. Throughout her illness my team and I were not able to spend the time with her or indeed support each other, in the way we normally would have. So many have sacrificed so much during this pandemic. Tonight, I just feel sick and sad.

Piers Morgan – 2021 Comments about Allegra Stratton Laughing About Christmas Party

The comments made by Piers Morgan, the media commentator, on Twitter on 7 December 2021.

Boris Johnson is continuing to lie about last year’s illicit Christmas party at No. 10 – even when we’ve all now seen his own spokeswoman on video laughing about it & wondering how best to lie about it to the media.

Even by his standards, this is absolutely shameful.
