    Central to the Government’s long term economic plan is the creation of jobs and making work pay. We know that work is the best route out of poverty so our welfare reforms are focussed on supporting those people who can work to find and keep work rather than rely on benefits, ensuring fairness and affordability for the tax payer. We are committed to balancing incentivising work with protecting pensioners and those who cannot work, and help with the costs of additional needs. That is why benefits for the additional costs of disability, and for carers, are up-rated each year in line with prices, and the basic and new State Pensions are up-rated with our triple lock guarantee.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what estimate she has made of per pupil funding for Southwell Minster School in (a) 2015-16 and (b) 2016-17.

    We do not estimate budgets at an individual school level for future years as they are subject to change depending on pupil numbers, characteristics and the LA funding formula. We do not hold the information requested, but we do publish the allocations at individual school level for the current academic year every October.

    The following table details the individual school budget and the per pupil funding rates for Southwell Minster School in Newark. These have been sourced wherever possible up to 2012-2013 from published Section 251 statements, which detail local authority spending at school level, and from published school and academy allocations for 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16.

    To ask Her Majesty’s Government what action, if any, they plan to take as a result of the recent report of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers that 40 per cent of teachers in the UK have experienced violence from pupils in the past year.

    The government has already taken steps to empower teachers to tackle poor pupil behaviour in schools. We have extended teachers’ searching powers; allowed them to impose same-day detentions; and clarified their power to use reasonable force. In 2014, we updated our advice on pupil behaviour to make clear the range of sanctions it is permissible to use in order to manage poor behaviour. We also produced a range of case studies showing good practice and issued separate advice for schools to help teachers identify and support pupils whose behaviour may be related to an unmet mental health or special educational need.

    The Teacher Voice Omnibus survey, a nationally representative survey of teachers in England, found that 76 per cent of teachers say that behaviour in schools is ‘good or better’ compared to 70 per cent in 2008. However, we recognise that poor behaviour is still a problem in some schools. On 16 June 2015, the Secretary of State appointed the behaviour expert, Tom Bennett, to lead a behaviour review to ensure new teachers are fully trained in dealing with disruptive children and to consider all of the challenges of managing behaviour in the 21st century.

    To complement this review, Tom Bennett will lead a further review of behaviour management in schools with a particular focus on leadership, culture and systems used to tackle disruptive behaviour.

    To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what provisions his Department has put in place as part of the rail franchise package for the Calder Valley rail line to improve rolling stock on that line.

    The new Northern franchise will introduce at least 140 additional new DMU vehicles by the start of 2020. The new trains will be capable of operating at 100mph, be fitted with CCTV, fully air conditioned and have Wi-Fi fitted. These trains will operate on Northern Connect services including those on the Calder Valley route. In addition, over 600 existing vehicles will be fully refurbished to include improved seating, repainted interiors, Wi-fi, real time passenger information screens and improved lighting.

    The savings were estimated using DWP’s and HMRC’s models of the tax and benefit system. Extracting the full details of the calculations carried out within the models would only be possible at disproportionate cost.

    Her Majesty’s Coastguard does not record the number of unanswered routine telephone calls at the National Maritime Operations Centre or at any of the Coastguard Operations Centres within the national network.

    It should be noted that there is a robust system, in line with the Public Emergency Call Service (PECS) Code of Practice, to ensure that ‘999’ calls to Centres within the network are answered. This is through a cascade system across the network and if necessary to other emergency services.

    To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Williams of Trafford on 11 October (HL1831), how many arrests of illegal immigrants, and how many arrests for immigration offences, there were in each of the last five years; and how many of those arrested in each year (1) were deported from the UK, (2) remained in custody, and (3) were released within the UK.

    It is not possible to provide information specific to the number of arrests for illegal immigrants because immigration offences cover a wide range of activities and the data specific to arrests for illegal immigration cannot be separated from arrests for other immigration offences. Additionally, an individual may be arrested for committing more than one offence, but as only one offence per arrest is recorded in a format that can be reported on centrally it is not possible to provide complete figures on arrests by individual offences type.

    Information on arrests – either by an Immigration Enforcement or Police Officer – for committing an immigration offence is available. For the period 2011/12 to 2015/16, our records indicate that there were 119,730 arrests.

    Data on the custody or detention status of those arrested cannot be provided without incurring disproportionate cost because checks of individual records would be required.

    The reduction from FY2011-12 to FY2012-13 was due to the loss of additional revenues from utilisation of a hanger by a commercial operator.
