    To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will redraft the code governing detention of teenagers under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 to ensure that 17 year olds in custody are treated as teenagers by the police.

    Following the High Court ruling in the judicial review HC vs (1) Secretary of
    State for the Home Department and (2) Commissioner of Police for the
    Metropolis, the Government made changes to the Police and Criminal Evidence Act
    1984 Codes of Practice C & H, which govern the treatment of detained persons in
    police custody. The changes, which came into effect on 21st October 2013, have
    the effect of requiring the police to treat 17 year olds in police custody as
    children by providing, as a matter of course, Appropriate Adults and to inform
    a person responsible for the welfare of the 17 year old of their detention.
    These changes are mandatory.

    The Foreign and Commonwealth Office received 2,331 Commons written questions in the 2013/14 session. All received a substantive answer before Prorogation. Questions tabled just before Prorogation, which had invalid notice periods, were not able to be answered.

    3. The data presented above comes from benefit claims data held by the Department for Work and Pensions. It related to new and repeat ESA claims and Incapacity Benefit (IB) claims reassessments. In October 2008, ESA replaced IB for new claims. Starting with a trial in October 2010, and reaching a full scale national roll-out in April 2011, existing IB claims began to be phased out, with claimants reassessed to see if they qualify for ESA instead.

    The reassessment of existing incapacity benefits claimants started in October 2010 with a trial in the Burnley and Aberdeen areas. These are included in the table.

    DWP statisticians identified an error in the JSA sanctions appeal outcomes data. In line with normal practice for official statistics the Department has withdrawn this particular set of information. The data will be made available again as soon as possible pending investigations by DWP statisticians who will, if necessary, make corrections to this data.

    Information concerning the number of adult cystic fibrosis (CF) patients cared for by specialist centres in each of the last 10 years is not available. This data has only been collected since the introduction of the tariff for CF services in 2011, and in the following table we have provided the number of adult patients cared for in each year since that time:

    More generally, we expect all CF patients to have a CF specialist in charge of their care and as part of the ongoing support they receive, to be assessed at specialist centres.
