    The Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, my right hon. Friend the Member for Epsom and Ewell (Mr Grayling) raised the treatment of child detainees with the Israeli Supreme Court President during his visit to Israel in May. I wrote to the Israeli Attorney General on this issue on 31 March 2014.

    Foreign and Commonwealth Office officials regularly meet POLISARIO Front representatives to discuss Western Sahara. Officials also undertake visits to the region, and to the refugee camps at Tindouf. British Ministers do not have direct contact with the POLISARIO Front.

    To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what the income to the National Insurance Fund would be if all people over the state retirement age paid contributions.

    HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) currently estimate that abolishing the national insurance exemption for people of pensionable age in 2014/15 would raise around £950m in NIC receipts.

    This figure is based on employee and self employed national insurance contributions (Classes 1, 2 and 4).

    The estimate is based on the latest available Survey of Personal Incomes (2011/12), which has been projected in line with Budget 2014 economic assumptions.

    The estimate also includes a behavioural adjustment to reflect changes in labour supply for this age group which are subject to some uncertainties.

    As at March 2014, the average amount of child maintenance arrears owed to parents with care is £2,1461.

    Notes

    1. Arrears amounts are calculated on cases with a positive outstanding arrears value, against the 1993 and 2003 statutory maintenance schemes only, including cases managed off system.

    The average amount of arrears owed to parents with care is calculated using the proportion of total arrears owed to parents with care and the proportion of cases where arrears are owed to parents with care, on the CSCS and CS2 computer systems only.
