During his service he took part in many big bombing raids. On his discharge he entered the iron and steel industry.

He is a member of the Council of the Chartered Institute of Accountants, and is president-designate of the Institute of Costs and Works Accountants. He visited the United States last year as financial adviser to the Anglo-American Council on Productivity, and earlier acted in a similar capacity to Unrra and the International Refugee Organization.

    Mr. E. H. C. Leather was born in 1919 in Toronto, where his parents had gone from Manchester. Graduating at the Royal Military College of Canada, he was commissioned in the Canadian Army in 1939. One of the original officers of the 1st (Canadian) Parachute Battalion, he was injured in a parachute failure and spent nine months in a plaster cast. Later he served in Belgium, Holland, and Germany. In 1945 he contested Bristol South. He is in business with a firm of insurance and banking brokers in the City, and lives in London.

    Mr. D. Williams, who is 41, received his education at Plymouth College and the R.A.F. College, Cranwell? He was gazetted pilot officer in 1928, and in 1936 founded a company to develop the Whittle system. In 1941 he was appointed managing director of this concern, and three years later became a director of Power Jets (Research and Development) Limited, a Government-sponsored body. He is a companion of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a member of the Society of British Aircraft Constructors.

Touche was born in 1895, and educated at Marlborough and University College, Oxford, of which he is a B.A. He is a barrister, author of two law books, and director of several city investment trusts. He has been M.P. for the old Reigate division since 1931, and in the last Parliament was on the panel of Standing Committee chairmen. Before 1931 he had unsuccessfully contested Ashton-under-Lyne and North Islington, of which his father, the late Sir George Touche, was M.P. from 1910 to 1918.

He has been a member of the Labour Party since 1918.
