    The Police’s National Domestic Extremism and Disorder Intelligence Unit (NDEDIU) has a role in monitoring and gathering intelligence on groups where they pose a criminal threat from domestic extremism or public disorder. If any illegal activities are taking place, the police will take the necessary action. The Governments Countering Extremism Strategy focuses on all forms of extremism, not least the hate inspired and racially motivated nature of far right and Neo-Nazi extremists.

    As yet, no specific assessment of the threat from Britain First has been carried out.

    ePassport Gates are in operation at many ports across the UK. At present there are (a) thirty five operating across Heathrow, (b) twenty at Gatwick, (c) ten at Luton, and (d) fifteen at Stansted.

    In line with published data, statistics are available for the 12 month period from 31 July 2014 to 30 June 2015. In that period the average time it took to issue the first substantive Home Office response to a new application for indefinite leave to remain was 14 calendar days.

    The Home Office does not hold data on the number of police officers allowed to continue on full duties, placed on restricted duties or suspended following a death in police custody or during an investigation for gross misconduct. The issue of deaths and serious incidents in police custody has long been a priority issue for the Home Office and on 23 July 2015, the Home Secretary announced the launch of an independent review of this issue.
