    To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what proportion of calls received by Action Fraud have resulted in a police investigation to date; and if she will make a statement.

    I refer my Rt. Hon Friend to the answer I gave him on 27th October 2015 to question 12259.

    It is the responsibility of the local Chief Constable, in conjunction with their Police and Crime Commissioner, to determine the resources they devote to tackling fraud and cyber crimes locally. The Government does not hold data on the proportion of calls received by Action Fraud which result in a police investigation.

    The Home Office is working very closely with officials from the Office of the First Minister and the Deputy First Minister (OFMdFM) to assist Northern Ireland’s offer to welcome Syrians in need of help. At local level, the Home Office is represented in Northern Ireland at OFMdFM’s Syrian Refugee Strategic and Operational Planning Groups. We are also assisting OFMdFM officials in introducing the processes needed to enable the first intake of Syrian refugees to arrive in Northern Ireland.

    To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, when she expects provisions in the Private Security Industry Act 2001 on private investigators to come into force; which individuals and organisations she has held discussions with on these powers; and if she will make a statement.

    The Government is committed to ensuring the integrity of the private security industry and this includes private investigators.

    In July, the Government committed to a review (formerly triennial review) of the Security Industry Authority. That review may make further recommendations for legislative change which the Government will then consider.

    Home Office Ministers have regular meetings with Ministerial colleagues and others as part of the process of policy development and delivery. As was the case with previous administrations, it is not the Government’s practice to provide details of all such meetings.

We will be working closely with a range of experts, including academics and universities, to improve our understanding of extremism. Opportunities for part-funded research will be allocated competitively.

    Channel is a multi-agency process and support can be provided from a range of local agencies. The support programme is tailored to the individual based on an assessment of their vulnerabilities. It can include: ideological and theological mentoring; anger management; education skills; and family or health support.
